Having met the CEO of the charity, Lisa, I realised the excellent work and passion she shows for the charity. I think the area of work they undertake is under reported and the support they offer is invaluable. The waiting list for their services is very long. So any contributions that shorten the waiting time must be a good thing.

I wanted to support a local charity not known by many people. By us helping them with their running costs they can be more efficient with the money donated to them. When they don’t need to think about IT then they can focus on helping as many people as possible.

Here are just a few examples of volunteering opportunities with RSVP:

  • Counsellors. Counselling is our most in need service, open seven days a week to women and men affected by sexual violence, and the people supporting them. If you’re a qualified counsellor, or currently working towards a degree or diploma in counselling or psychotherapy, with an interest in supporting sexual violence survivors, get in touch. Please note we do not accept volunteers on distance learning counselling/psychotherapy courses.
  • Helpline. We offer free training to helpline volunteers to support survivors of sexual violence via the telephone helpline.
  • Fundraising. You can raise money for RSVP in many different ways, from sponsored challenges, bake sales and dress down days, jumble sales and raffles. Why not make these regular events at your workplace, school or college?
