The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps us make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children. It replaced the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).
They are responsible for:
- processing requests for criminal records checks (DBS checks)
- deciding whether it is appropriate for a person to be placed on or removed from a barred list
- placing or removing people from the DBS children’s barred list and adults’ barred list for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
What are DBS checks
They search police records and, in relevant cases, barred list information, and then we were issued our DBS certificate. Find out more about the DBS check process. They recognise that information released on DBS certificates can be extremely sensitive and personal. Therefore a code of practice for recipients of criminal record information has been developed to ensure that any information they get was handled fairly and used properly.
A list of guidance documents about the DBS checking service is available on their website.
All staff at Offsite Servers whether technical or in the admin team are fully DBS checked. You can feel safe and assured that we have done all we can, as employers to make sure our staff are the right staff working with your business.
Additional security measures we take
For your protection we archive all emails sent, received and deleted by staff. Additionally, all inbound and outbound telephone calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
We are also registered with the Information Commissioners Office. Our registration number is ZA20619
